    New Delhi:

Diljit Dosanjh has not been dropped from Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan’s Border 2 till now, a source close to the film’s production confirmed to NDTV on Friday. Diljit Dosanjh has been embroiled in a controversy ever since the trailer of the film Sardaar Ji 3 released on June 22 and the involvement of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir came to light. Amid several threats, Diljit’s Sardaar Ji 3 has released in overseas theatres today.

    What’s Happening

    • As Diljit Dosanjh didn’t withhold the overseas release of his Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, Indian film body the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has been constantly threatening to ban Diljit in India.
    • On Friday, several reports in circulation claimed that Diljit Dosanjh has been dropped from Border 2 amid the row.
    • A source close to the film’s development confirmed to NDTV that he hasn’t been dropped yet.
    • “The news about his replacement is not true. His casting was done 9 months back. and we have already finished 50% shoot,” said the source.

The Sardaar Ji 3-Border 2 Row

Diljit Dosanjh has been facing relentless flak on social media as he didn’t  withhold the release of his film Sardaar Ji 3 overseas in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.

A couple of days ago, the FWICE wrote a letter to Sunny Deol as he’s a part of Border 2. “Your decision to disassociate from this collaboration will reaffirm your enduring image as a true patriot and will send a strong message that national interest will always come before individual pursuits,” the letter said.

The Houston stop of Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” tour took a tense turn on Saturday night when a technical issue caused her mid-air car prop to tilt dangerously during her performance, reported Variety.

According to the publication, while singing “16 Carriages” at the NRG Stadium, Beyonce was riding a flying car– a special prop she uses to get closer to fans — when it suddenly started tipping to one side. The crowd gasped and screamed as the car leaned further, raising concerns for the star’s safety. However, Beyonce was safely and quickly lowered to the ground. After she returned to the stage, the singer reassured fans with a smile, saying, “If I ever fall I know y’all would catch me.” The crowd responded with loud cheers and applause.

  • Imagine driving on a wide, newly built road with zero potholes and trees lined up on both sides. As you speed through the smooth road, the fresh breeze and landscape make for a scenic and pleasant driving experience. But what if these trees shift to the middle of the road? It turns into a real-life

When the district administration undertook a Rs 100 crore road widening project, they approached the forest department, seeking permission to remove trees. But their demand was rejected. In return, the forest department demanded compensation for 14 hectares of forest land. However, the district administration could not fulfil the request, and they made a bizarre move – they created a road around the trees.

The trees aren’t planted in a straight line, which a driver could avoid. One must criss-cross their way through them. It appears to be an Rs 100 crore invitation to death.

Many accidents have already happened due to trees being in the middle of the road, a passerby said. The district administration, however, does not seem to be taking any concrete initiative to remove the trees.

Who will be held responsible if a major accident occurs and someone dies? It is a question that remains unanswered, like the problem at hand.

  • A heartbreaking video has surfaced on social media where a batter died on the pitch due to heart attack right after hitting a six.

In a similar incident back in 2024, a 35-year-old cricketer died of cardiac arrest while playing a cricket match at the Garware Stadium in Pune.

The player, by the name of Imran Patel, came out to bat as an opener and started to complain of chest and arm pain after spending some time on the pitch.

He informed the on-field umpires of the issue and was given the permission to leave the field. However, while heading back to the pavilion, Imran collapsed.

The entire incident was caught on camera as the match was being live-streamed. As Imran collapsed, other players on the field rushed towards him. He was immediately taken to the hospital. But, upon assessment by the doctors, Imran was pronounced dead.

What was surprising for many is the fact that Imran was in extremely good health. He was physically fit, yet suffered a cardiac arrest. Being an all-rounder, Imran was the kind of a player who had to be active all throughout a match. The reason behind his death, hence, left many stunned.
